The landlocked state of Punjab does not have any major waterways. However, the state has perennial rivers and canals which provide scope for inland waterways. Three Inland National Waterways (NWs) flows through Punjab namely, NW17 on Beas river covering states of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, NW 45 on Indira Gandhi Canal covering Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan and NW 98 on Sutlej river covering Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
