The percentage of pure silver present in an old necklace weighing 8 kg in 25 %. The ornament is melted to make a new anklet. How much kilograms of silver should be added to it , so that the silver present in new anklet is 40%?

Ornament weight = 8 kg.Silver = 25% of 8 = 2 kg.
6/(2+x) =60/40
12 + 6x = 24
6x = 12
x = 2 kg.
Silver need to be added = 2 kg.
