Hamza Makhdoom also referred as Mehboob-ul-Alam and Sultan-ul-Arifeen. He was born in the Tujjar village of Baramulla district. His father was called Baba Usman. Hamza Makhdoom studied in a Monastery for a year and later in a Madrasa, he studied philosophy, logics, ethics, jurisprudence, mysticism, etc. He died at an age of 82 in the year 1576 in Srinagar. His Shrine is known as Makhdoom Sahib or Hazrat Sultan-ul-Arifeen which is an important pilgrimage centre of Kashmir.
