It was on this day 71 years ago that journalist Shoebullah Khan was waylaid, and shot dead after his right hand was chopped off. Shoebullah’s murder on 22^nd August, 1948 by Razakars led by Khasim Rizvi had hastened the Police Action by the central government against the princely state of Hyderabad, leading to its merger on 17^th September.
