Gurdwara Ber Sahib is situated in the Sultanpur Lodhi town in district Kapurthala of Punjab. Guru Nanak Dev ji used to take bath in Bein river in this district. He stayed here for 14 years 9 months and 13 days. One day, while bathing here in Bein River, Guruji disappeared and returned after three days at the place where Gurdwara Shri Sant Ghat Sahib is situated.Upon returning, he began his lifelong mission of preaching Sikhism. Guru Nanak Dev Ji planted a Ber tree on this spot which has grown into a large tree. This place later came to be known as Gurdwara Ber Sahib.
