The basic elements of communication include:

Sender – the person who initiates the message

Idea – the content or information to be communicated

Receiver – the person who receives and interprets the message

Authority, on the other hand, is related to management hierarchy or decision-making power and is not a necessary component of the communication process.

Therefore, Authority is not an element of communication.
