Baisakhi Festival is celebrated on the first day of the New Year in the traditional Saka calendar and corresponds to 13^th April of Gregorian calendar (once in every 36 years the festival is celebrated on 14^th April). It is one of the high points of the year for Sikhs, as it is anniversary of the founding of Khalsa (AD 1699).
