Bhagwan Mahavir Sanctuary is the first Wildlife Sanctuary of Goa. Goa’s first wildlife sanctuary, the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary at Mollem in Dharbandora was notified in 1967. From then till now, the state has increased its count of wildlife sanctuaries to six and has even got one national park.
