Basantautsav is the soul of Shantiniketan. In this festival, a procession is taken out in Shantiniketan which is called Doljatra. It is greeted not only with colours, but also song, music and dances. Men and women in traditional get-up yellow dress and ornaments of flowers, dance to the tunes of Rabindra Sangeet.
