Interviewer asks this question to assess two different aspects – What/how much do you know about the company and secondly What is your expectation from the company apart from salary. This question provides the candidate with a golden opportunity to hit a ‘six’ over the boundary. The answer to this question shall serve dual purpose to the candidate as well. Firstly, he can impress the interviewer(s) by mentioning about the plus-points of the company that attracts him and secondly, he can clearly give a hint of his expectations from the company which he might not later be able to talk about due to lack of opportunity.
The following points shall help you assure that the ‘six’ that you hit, is a ‘stronger’ one:
1. Do an in-depth research about the company’s profile; in the manner just as you do for the question ‘What do you know about this company?’.
2. Keep a broad picture in mind of what opportunities you have and what contributions you can make.
3. Do speak about your goals which are in line with the organization’s goals. This earns you premium marks over and above your competiting interview candidates.
4. If you have any special reason – personal, emotional or other; to work with the company, then, do mention about that. For eg., many people have a dream to work with a particular company/organization.
Now, it’s time for 'participation':
