A farmer built a fence around his square plot. He used 27 fence poles on each side of the square. How many poles did he need altogether ?

A. 100

Solution(By Examveda Team)

Since each pole at the corner of the plot is common to its two sides, so we have :
Total number of poles needed = 27 x 4 - 4 = 108 - 4 = 104.

    A vegetable vendor has a weighing balance such that he keeps the vegetables on one side and the weights on other. He will sell vegetables in integral values only. If he has to sell any value from 1 to 100 kg find the minimum no of weights required.

    In the above question if he now decides to keep the weights on both sides find the minimum no of weights required.
