Our atmosphere is classified into 4 classes i.e. Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere and Thermosphere. The basis of this classification is Temperature. The four main layers of the atmosphere have different temperature gradients creating the thermal structure of the atmosphere. Temperature increases with altitude and in others, it decreases.
