Because of the cricket tournament / organizational work hardly / I have had any / rest since one week.

A. Because of the cricket tournament

B. organizational work hardly

C. have had any

D. rest since one week.

E. No error

Answer: Option D

Solution (By Examveda Team)

The phrase "rest since one week" is incorrect.

Correct usage should be "rest for one week" or "rest since last week."

The word "since" is used to refer to a specific point in time, while "for" is used to refer to a duration of time.

Therefore, the sentence should be corrected to: "Because of the cricket tournament organizational work, I have had hardly any rest for one week."

    The corrected sentence should be:

"Because of the cricket tournament's organisational work, I have hardly had any rest for the past week."

The mistakes in the original sentence are:

    - "cricket/tournament" should be "cricket tournament's" (possessive form)
    - "hardly" was in the wrong position, it should be after "have" to indicate "scarcely" or "almost not"
    - "since one week" is incorrect, it should be "for the past week" to indicate the duration of time.

Note: The corrected sentence assumes that the speaker has been working on organizing a cricket tournament and has had very little rest for the past week.

Can you write "since one day" or "since one month" or "since one year"? No it has to be "for one day, one month or one year" So how it would be "for one week"? It does not show the starting point but it tells about a duration so it should be "for one week".

I think the error is in D part because for is used when duration is given

I guess 'had have' can never be used. As it is contradicting the grammar rules..
