NTPC stands for National Thermal Power Corporation. It generates electricity mainly by utilisation of fossil fuels. But, as the reserves of fossil fuels are limited the organisation is building hydroelectric power plants also. On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation is involved in Telecom industry as similar infrastructure can be used there also.
