Deficiency of nitrogen in maize

Nitrogen is the most important essential nutrient required by plants for proper functioning.
Its deficiency in maize can cause yellowing of leaves from tip to base in V shaped pattern. It tends to show stunted or sparse growth. The oldest leaves show discolouration and necrosis.
