Glyphosate is a herbicide that specifically inhibits the biosynthesis of aromatic amino acids like phenylalanine and also inhibits plant enzyme 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSPS). Its exposure also inhibits symbiont establishment during host development.
The herbicide glyphosate inhibits the shikimate pathway of the synthesis of amino acids such as phenylalanine, tyrosine and tryptophan etc.
