ICAR stands for the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and is an autonomous body responsible for coordinating agricultural education and research in India.
It was established on 16^th July 1929, hence 16^th July is celebrated as ICAR day every year.
It is the largest network of agricultural research and education institutes in the world.
