If 30 oxen can plough $$\frac{1}{7}$$ th of a field in 2 days, how many days 18 oxen will take to do the remaining work?

We will use work equivalence method,
$$\eqalign{ & \frac{{30}}{{18}} = \frac{{ {\frac{1}{7}} }}{{ {\frac{6}{7}} }} \times \frac{x}{2} \cr & \frac{5}{3} = {\frac{1}{6}} \times \frac{x}{2} \cr & Or,\,x = \frac{{60}}{3} = 20\,{\text{days}} \cr} $$

    work equivalent formula:
    P1*D1 / W1 = P2*D2 / W2
    Here, P1=30, D1=2 , W1=1/7 ; P2=18, D2=? W2= 1-1/7 = 6/7
    Now, 30*2/(1/7)= 18*D2/(6/7)
    30*2*7=18*D2*7 / 6
    D2=360/18 = 20 Days

    work equ formula:- m1*d1*w2 = m2*d2*w1
    here, 30 * 2 * (6/7) = 18 * d2 * (1/7)
    => d2=20
