The condition of extensive interveinal chlorosis of older leaves which later infects the younger leaves is due to a deficiency of magnesium. Sometimes it causes reddish brown tints and early leaf fall. Magnesium deficiency is common in tomatoes, apples, grapevines, raspberries, roses and rhododendrons.
