In 1920, the Congress committee was established in Ranchi. A large assembly of the congress party was held at Daltonganj on the 10^th of October, 1920, under the leadership of Arthur Andrews, when people voted to expand the non-cooperation and boycott movement, particularly in schools and colleges.
