ICAR stands for Indian Council for Agricultural Research was established on 16^th July 1929. It is an autonomous body responsible for coordinating agricultural education and research in India.
Trilochan Mohapatra is the present Director of ICAR.
The Union Minister of Agriculture serves as its president. And it reports to the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE).
