Jharkhand postal circle was created on 12^th January, 2001 from Bihar Circle (State created on 15^th November 2000) with it's headquarter located at Ranchi having 7 postal divisions (Ranchi, Singhbhum, Dhanbad, Santhal Parganas, Hazaribagh, Palamau , Giridih).
