The Mansabdari system, originating from the Turko-Mongol tradition and initially established by Genghis (Changez) Khan, organized the army on a decimal basis, with units of 100 (yuz-bashi) or 1000 (hazara). This system was later brought to India by Babur and continued during Humayun's reign. However, it was officially implemented in 1571 AD by Mughal Emperor Akbar. Mansabdars, who were officers in the Mughal Administration, became an integral part of this system. Its purpose was to determine the rank and status of government officials and military generals in the Mughal Empire.
