Nitrogen fertilizers are supposed to be very essential for the growth and development of plants, but their excess delays maturity.
As nitrogen enhances the foliage growth, thus the weak stems become less able to support the plant, moreover, root growth is also stunted, which leads to the weak support system of a plant. Eventually, the maturity and growth of the plant are delayed and sometime may cause the death of the plant.
