Pyranometer is the instrument that is used to measure solar radiation on a planar surface.
It is designed to measure the solar radiation flux density from the hemisphere above within in range of 0.3 micro meters to 3 micro meters.
The name Pyranometer is derived from the Greek words Pyr means ‘fire’, ano means 'above the sky'.
