Tripura is a state in northeastern India. The third smallest state in the country, it covers 10,491.69 km² and is bordered by Bangladesh to the north, south and west, and the Indian states of Assam and Mizoram to the east.

The Tripura Legislative Assembly or Tripura Vidhan Sabha is the unicameral legislature of the Indian state of Tripura, with 60 Members of the Legislative Assembly.

For administrative purposes, Tripura has been divided into 8 districts, 23 subdivisions and 58 development blocks - with effect from 21^st January 2012, after a Government of Tripura Decision, out of which the newly created districts are 4, subdivisions 6, development blocks 5.

The current chief justice is Aparesh Kumar Singh. He took oath on 13 April 2023.
