x₁ + x₂ + x₃ + x₄ = 16 × 4 = 64
⇒ $$\frac{1}{2}$$ (x₂ + x₃ + x₄) = 23
⇒ x₂ + x₃ + x₄ = 46
∴ x₁ = 64 - 46
        = 18
