The difference of two numbers is 20% of the larger number. If the smaller number is 20, then the larger number is :

A. 25

B. 45

C. 50

D. 80

Answer: Option A

Solution(By Examveda Team)

Let the larger number be x
Then, x - 20 = $$\frac{20}{100}$$x
⇔ x - $$\frac{1}{5}$$x = 20
⇔ $$\frac{4}{5}$$x = 20
⇔ x = 20 × $$\frac{5}{4}$$
⇔ x = 25
