Norin 10 is the first wheat variety to have short plant height, lodging resistance, and higher grain yield.
It is a semi-dwarf wheat cultivar with a very large ear that was bred by Gonjiro Inazuka at an experimental station in Japan. It grew just 2 feet tall, provided with two genes, Rht1 and Rht2, that resulted in the reduced height of the plant.
