The probability that a card drawn from a pack of 52 cards will be a diamond or a king is -

A. $$\frac{{2}}{{13}}$$

B. $$\frac{{4}}{{13}}$$

C. $$\frac{{1}}{{13}}$$

D. $$\frac{{1}}{{52}}$$

Answer: Option B

Solution(By Examveda Team)

Here, n(S) = 52
There are 13 cards of diamond (including one king) and there are three more kings.
Let E = event of getting a diamond or a king
Then, n(E) = (13 + 3) = 16
$$\therefore P(E) = \frac{{n(E)}}{{n(S)}} = \frac{{16}}{{52}} = \frac{4}{{13}}$$
