The term “Green revolution” was coined by William S. Gaud, the administrator of the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID), in March 1968.
The introduction of this green revolution in India has converted agriculture into the modern industrial system by the adoption of technology like the use of HYV (high yielding variety) seeds, mechanized farm tools, irrigation facilities, pesticides and fertilizers.
