A. 100

B. 160

C. 180

D. 200

Answer: Option A

Solution(By Examveda Team)

Let the numbers are 2x and 3x respectively
According to the question,
2x × $$\frac{20}{100}$$ + 20 = 3x × $$\frac{10}{100}$$ + 25
$$\frac{2}{5}$$x + 20 = $$\frac{3}{10}$$ + 25
$$\frac{3}{10}$$x - $$\frac{2}{5}$$x = - 5
3x - 4x = - 50
x = 50
Hence, required smaller number
= 2x
= 2 × 50
= 100
