What is the gap period between first no-confidence motion and second no-confidence motion-
A. 12 months
B. 3 months
C. 6 months
D. 9 months
Answer: Option C
Solution(By Examveda Team)
No confidence motion can be introduced only in Lok Sabha by opposition against the government. Speaker of Lok Sabha can accept no confidence motion only when it is demanded by 50 or more members. Constitution does not directly mention no confidence motion. It can be inferred from the provision of collective responsibility under Article-75, which implies that majority of Lok Sabha MPs must not be agianst Prime Minister and his Cabinet. There must be a gap of at least six months between two no confidence motions.Related Questions on Indian Politics
