What is the least number of square tiles required to pave the floor of a room 15 m 17 cm long and 9 m 2 cm broad?
A. 840
B. 841
C. 820
D. 814
Answer: Option D
Solution(By Examveda Team)
Length of the room= 15 m 17 cm
= 15 × 100 + 17
= 1517 cm.
Breadth of the room
= 9 m 2 cm
= 902 cm.
The HCF of the 1517 and 902 will be size of square tiles. HCF 1517 and 902 = 41 cm.
Area of the room
= length × breadth
= 1517 × 902 cm2
Area of tiles = 41 × 41 cm2 So, number of tiles required
= $$\frac{{1517 \times 902}}{{41 \times 41}}$$
= 814 tiles

D. 5, 10, 15
How you calculate the HCF . Please shoe that in working notes
Superb...👍👍
41 kha se aaya 🤔
We used hcf to find the max possible dimension of square tile so that we can find minimum number of tiles.
Hme find karna hai Least number of Tiles, Tiles sabse kam tabhi lagenge jab Tiles ka Area Largest or highest ho. Hme highest area wale tiles nikalna hai isliye HCF use hua hai.
Hum yha pe h.c.f kyu use kiye hai.. L.c.m use kyu nai kiye
