$$\eqalign{ & {\text{Let }}x{\text{ be added to each term}}. \cr & {\text{According to question}}, \cr & \frac{{ {7 + x} }}{{11 + x}} = \frac{3}{4} \cr & Or,\,33 + 3x = 28 + 4x \cr & Or,\,x = 5 \cr} $$

    Why did not assume the first ratio as 7x,11x and added by a constant K.
    7x + K ÷ 11x + K = 3 ÷ 4.

    yes this would be 5. But in mcq, right option is given as 6.5. Hope Admin will correct this.
