In the Mediterranean climate off-shore trade winds doesnot blow in the summer. In summer there is a dry, warm period. Due to the movement of the sun to the top of the tropic of cancer, a warm zone or low pressure region is built on the Mediterranean region and so rain bearing winds are not seen here. But offshore trade winds blow here which don't bring much precipitation.
