Theble Oraon and Paul Dayal organized Kishan Sabha in 1931. These organizations were active in holding the grounds of the freedom struggle in India. They were associated earlier with the Unnati Samaj, which they found biased towards the urban and middle-class. Hence, they left the Samaj and formed the Kisan Sabha. About July 1939, the non-Christian Adivasis started an organization called, “The Sanatan Adivasi Sabha” as they were being neglected and exploited by Christian Adivasis. Theble Oraon who had broken away from Jaipal’s Adivasi Sabha was one of the sponsors of this movement.
