Let the length and breadth of the field be l and b km respectively
Then,
2 (l + b) = 6
⇒ l + b = 3
And lb = 2
(l - b)² = (l + b)² - 4lb
⇒ (l - b)² = 3² - 4 × 2
⇒ (l - b)² = 1
⇒ (l - b) = 1 km
