1^st project Coordinator of AICVIP was Dr. Vishnu Swaroop.
AICVIP is all India-coordinated vegetable improvement project.
Initiation of AICVIP with Headquarters at Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, headed by a Project Coordinator, Dr. Vishnu Swaroop being the first one who joined the project in 1971.
The main function of AICVIP is to provide a national-level platform for multi-location testing of vegetable technologies developed by various research institutes and state agricultural universities to identify region-specific recommendations.
