An amount of Rs. 680 was invested at 6% rate of interest and another sum of money was invested at 10% interest. If the average interest on the total at the end of the year was 7.5%, how much was invested at 10%?

Now, $$\frac{{680}}{x} = \frac{{2.5}}{{1.5}}$$
Or, $$x = \frac{{680 \times 3}}{5}$$
Hence, x = Rs. 408

    408 answer is correct ,because 680 amount given only at 6 % interest rate . Not both rates

    In allegation formula we put
    Cheap price. Costly price
    Avgprice

    Cheap commodity : costly commodity ratio
    That is 2.5:1.5
    Or 5:3
    So acc to the formula ratio for 10% is 3
    Then we will ger 3*680/8= 255/-
    How did u do that...pls explain

    It can be solve by using simpleinterest formula but we can save time by using this method so it is best

    Ratio is clearly showing is 5:3, hence investment is 10% is 3/8*680=255

    ans is given 480 and in soln part it is 408 . which is currect
