An area of soil thoroughly wetted and allowed to drain till percolation stops will have a water content called Field capacity.
Field capacity is the water content of a soil after gravitational drainage over approximately a day.
The suction that defines this value varies from soil to soil, but is generally in the range of 10 - 33 kPa. Drainable porosity of a soil is defined as the water content between field capacity and saturation.
