Kufri Kuber is the Black Scurf resistant variety of Potato. Black scurf is caused by the fungus Rhizoctonia solani, which can exist in the soil in the absence of potatoes.
This variety is released by the central potato research station, Shimla in 1943. It is resistant to black scurf and late blight of potato. Kufri Kuber is a selection from (Solanum curtilobum × S. tuberosum 'Deodara') × S. andi-genum, it matures early and gives good yields of medium-sized, yellow-fleshed tubers. It is best suited for hill and plain regions of India.
