Cellulose is absent in the Middle lamella.
The middle lamella serves as a cementing layer between the primary walls of adjacent cells. The middle lamella is made up of calcium and magnesium pectate. There is no cellulose in the middle lamella layer.
The primary wall is the cellulose-containing layer laid down by cells that are dividing and growing.
