CIMAP Trishna and CIMAP Tripta are varieties of Palmarosa.
It is best known by the common name palmarosa (palm rose) as it smells sweet and rose-like. Other common names include Indian geranium, ginger grass, rosha and rosha grass.
A high-yielding synthetic variety TRISHNA was developed by poly cross progenies of four elite inbred by CIMAP Lucknow. This improved cultivar registers 40% more oil yield and its geraniol content is as high as 93%.
CIMAP Tripta has major constituents like Citral, Geranyl acetate, Linalool and Geraniol at 94%.
