Downy mildew of muskmelon is controlled by the systemic fungicide Ridomil MZ.
Downy mildews are caused by microscopic, fungus-like (Oomycete) organisms. The infection reduced the crop's yield and impaired the quality of the fruit. Muskmelon leaves turned brown and the vines died within a few days. The humidity of the micro-climate within the crop increased and provided ideal conditions for the development of downy mildew.
