Essential oil is extracted from Tagetus signata species.This perennial herb grows all across the temperate grasslands and mountains of the southern part of South America and is more commonly known as the Marigold.
T. signata is glossy green foliage, nearly pinntified, highly aromatic. The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation from the fresh flowering herb and also an absolute solvent extraction from the flowering herb. The oil can be used as insecticides, fungicides and nematocides.
