For getting the optimum plant population of chili, the seeds required will be 1.5 - 2.0 kg/ha.
Chilli is a plant of tropical and subtropical regions. It grows well in warm and humid climates and has a temperature of 20 - 30 QC. As a rainfed crop, it is grown in areas receiving an annual rainfall of 75 - 100 cm.
The amount of seed required for a unit area of land to grow any crop successfully. In other words, the amount of seed required to raise a crop successfully on a given land is called a seed rate for that crop of the land.
