Gerbera variety suitable for cultivation under open conditions is Arka Krishika. It has a stalk length of 39 cm and produces yellow colored double types, 3 - 6 flowers per plant. It is suited for open-grown conditions and used for cut flowers and flower decoration.
Gerbera flowers are extensively distributed at heights of 1300 to 3200 meters. They grow well in states like Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and other Himalayan regions.
