Horticultural Society of India (HSI) was set up in 1942 at Pusa.
The Indian Academy of Horticultural Sciences ( formerly the Horticultural Society of India) had its headquarters at Lyallpur, Punjab (now in Pakistan) on its inception on 1^st January 1942. The headquarters of the Society was shifted to Delhi from Lyallpur in March 1949 after the partition of the country and was housed therein.
