How many times does the 29th day of the month occur in 400 consecutive years?

A. 4487 times

B. 4457 times

C. 4497 times

D. 4447 times

Answer: Option C

Solution (By Examveda Team)

In 400 consecutive years there are 97 leap years. Hence, in 400 consecutive years February has the 29th day 97 times and the remaining eleven months have the 29th day 400 × 11 or 4400 times.
Thus the 29th day of the month occurs
= 4400 + 97
= 4497 times.

    Answering Vani's Question
So we have to calculate Leap year in 400 consecutive years
In first 100 year we see 24 leap years, because 100/4 = 25 and as 100 is not leap year so 25-1 = 24
Same for 200 and 300, which will be 24 & 24 leap years because 200 and 300 are also not leap years.
At last as 400 is a leap year so will say 24+24+24+25 = 97, Which is the correct Ans
    Thankyou !!!
